The issue: Reliable data

While logging all these important information for all countries, we noticed that the information provided for the embassies and emergency numbers are different by countries. I expected perfectly data from the Germans. Usually we, the Germans,  put pressure on all information and companies to follow any Norms (DIN Norms) and procedures (Captain Slow of Top Gear like procedures, see the serie where he is driving the Bugatti Veron on the test track of Volkswagen in Germany – very cool), but I have learned that different countries have also different expectations on relaiable data.

So logging these information is the biggest issue we have with Global Help. Of yourse, we  just can”Copy and Paste” the information that is available, but we learned that the World Wide Web behaves like a old person – it never forgets. So we have to trust the official websites of the covernments, but also here we find a lot of outdata or non-maintained information. Quite a pain. So please feel lucky to get this information in one app. :D

  • Adding a scrollbar to navigate fast within the Embassies view in a country – Thx to Anton
  • Additional we are adding the Embassies of the scandinavian Countries and the Netherlands

Additionally we increase the overall numbers of emergency numbers and embassies/consulates in General. This is an ongoing action to expand the Database.

Global Help is Ready for Sale

That was a great weekend. On Friday, the 19th we submitted our Binary to Apple via the iTunes Connect application. We did a small Prosecco Bash and were totally happy about that important step. We still had some items on our “To Do” list for next week, but assuming that the approval process will take a while we had no rush. We had a tight schedule, but today we learned that the schedule is unbelievable tight. Why? Because Apple approved our app on Monday. On Monday at 07:44 they started the Review with our app and 1 hour and 24 minutes later, Global Help got the Status “Ready for Sale”. Can you believe that?

Localization process for Global Help

Currently we are in progress of doing the localization of Global Help. With version 1.0 following localizations will be available for you:

English
German
French
Spanish
Italian
Simplified Chinese
Japanese

Further localizations will be available, but for version 1.0 we decided to provide these 7 languages first. Maybe you have a strong voice and we hear your request for your choice of language.

Development department @ Loctory

Hi, my name is Florian, I am one of the founder and owner of Loctory. Today we do a small step for big companies, but this is a big step for us. And we are happy to see that we finally succeeded:

We do now official software development with focus on the Apple platform.

Our first application is called “Global Help” and will be available for the iPhone and iPod touch. We already have more apps in the pipeline and in mind – also for the iPad. Each application will get a own category in our blog and of course a dedicated url, so you will not get mixed up by overloaded websites.

We start writing more posts on our apps and will provide them on our twitter and facebook accounts too. We are looking for a close contact to you and would be happy to answer all your questions in a quick and personal way.

You can get an overview about the services Loctory can provide on our companies website www.loctory.com.
